This post is about my brief 2 month stint as a volunteer at Westfield High School Crew, which is located in Chantilly, VA. The team trained out of the Bull Run boathouse at Bull Run Regional Park in the spring.

Varsity Boys Assistant Coach

• Was brought in part time (2 to 3 times a week) by the head coach, who had been my varsity coach in high school. Took on a volunteer role in late March 2013
• Implemented some erg workouts to increase the toughness of the athletes in April 2013
• Took video and pictures for the athletes and coaching staff in ride alongs
• Attended regattas and supported the athletes by rigging and tightening shells, and preparing the athletes for race day
• Was asked to return as the varsity head coach, but determined the role was not a good fit and went with the freshmen boys high school coach at WT Woodson in the summer of 2013
